GWYNFAES EUROLWEN (2007)

When you walk into her field, you can't but notice Eurolwen. She's upstanding with a beautiful head, good confirmation, moves like a dream and has abundance of quality flat bone. Bay, three whites. In fact, she's very similar of Eurddydd at that age. She has been leased by the Rainhill Stud for 2008. We wish them all the best with both Rowena and Eurolwen for 2008.

****** is the first filly out of Sara and Culhwch. Bay with two even small whites. She has the quality bone and the freeflowing movement that you would expect from a Culhwch filly. ****** has a lovely temperament.

GWYNFAES +++++ (2007)

A gorgeous dark liver chestnut colt with four whites - 2 long at the back and 1 to the knee at the front and 1 very short one at the front. He's a flashy upstanding cob from top to toe and it goes without saying that he moves superbly well. Here is a colt for showing, riding or driving - he really will do well in any sphere.

Mae ganddo'r holl rinweddau byddwn yn ceisio magu yma yn Gwynfaes. Mae'n ebol sy'n tynnu llygad pawb gan fod ganddo pen penigamp a'r gallu i symud fel sydd fod. Mae'n frawd llawn i Seren JR, Gwenddydd, Owain Glyndwr, Hafddydd a Noah. Bydd Jaffeth yn yr arwerthiant ym mis Hydref.

Here is the third colt we have had from Branwen and Culhwch. He's bay with four white socks and as you would expect he's a real character and extremely friendly - very very similar to Noah. He possesses all the qualities that we want at Gwynfaes. Jaffeth is truely a show quality colt that has that x-factor which is so difficult to describe and a head to die for. He is a full brother to Seren JR, Gwenddydd, Owain Glyndwr, Hafddydd and Noah. I know the description is very similar to Noah's but HE IS! He will be at the sales in October!

GWYNFAES Y GOF (2007)

Sai'n siwr beth i wneud a'r baneri, ebol arall cafodd Seren Olaf - pum mlynedd ers i Sara gael ei geni ond mae e'n ebol gwerth ei weld. Meirion wedi canu clodydd hwn ers i funud gyntaf. Mae'r lluniau yn dweud y cyfan.

Not too sure what to do with the flags - Seren Olaf had another colt - it's five years since her last filly, Sara, and she's 20 years old this year - but what a colt. Bay with four even white socks and a star. Y Gof was born on the 25th of May and since has been the star of the field. Big, upstanding, smart, and 'what are you doing in MY field attitude'. Picture says it all.

CASTLEBERRYS ATHANASIA (2007)

Dyma'r eboles gyntaf a anwyd yng Ngogledd America wrth Culhwchac mae Lisa a phawb ym mhridfa Castleberry yn hynod o blas. Mae ei henw hyfryd yn dod o'r gair Groeg am anfarwol ond yn fwy pwysig, dyma's enw ar long ei thad dra'n ymladd yn yr Ail Ryfel Byd. Pan yn 7 wythnos oed, ennillodd y Brif Pencampwriaeth o dan un beirniad ac Is-brif Pencampwriaeth o dan beirniad arall - tipyn o ddechreuad i'w gyrfa yn y cylch dangos.

This filly is the first offspring in North America by Culhwch and conceived from frozen semen. Lisa and all at the Castleberrys Stud are abolutely delighted with her. Her name Athanasia is dervied from a Greek word meaning 'imortal' but more importantly it was the name of the ship that Lisa's father served during WWII. At her first show when just over 7 weeks old, at the Heartland Welsh Club, she was awarded the Grand Champion Cob under one judge and the Reserve Grand Cob Champion under the other judge. Here is the first colt born from Culhwch frozen semen in North America. Again at the Castleberrys Stud, they are thrilled with him as he's a big, strong, BLACK, colt with three white. We eagerly await to see how he gets on at the shows in 2008.

RING ROSEBUD (2007)

Roedd yn anrhydedd bod Kurt a Walter o Frifda Ring yng nghwlad Belg wedi mynd i'r ymdrech i cael Ring Danielle yn cyfeb i Culhwch a dyma'r canlyniad - Ring Rosebud. Yn barod ond yn ychydig mis oed, mae wedi ennill mewn sioeau a gwnaeth y daith draw i'r Sioe Fawr - trueni am y glaw a'r mwd. Fel y gwelwch uchod mae'n symudwraig o fri. Byddwn yn dilyn ei llwyddiannau yn eiddgar! Isod mae llun o'i mam Ring Danielle sydd hefyd yn medru perfformio yn rhagorol ym mhob sioe.

It was an honour that Kurt and Walter of the Ring Stud Belgium, went to such an effort to get Ring Danielle in foal to Culhwch and here is the result - Ring Rosebud. Already at only a few months old she has won her class and a reserve championship and even made to journey tothe Royal Welsh 2007 - what a pity about the rain and mud. Another mover, I hear you say! We will be eagerly following both her and her dam's successes. Below are pictures of Ring Danielle who also knows how to perform.

Gwawrwen is the first filly out of Culhwch and Goleuddydd making her a full sister to Matholwch, Custennin, Manawydan and Gilfaethwy. She again has the freeflowing movement that you would expect from a Culhwch filly and has legs to die for (Meirion's words!). [Pictured here with Madog 2006]

Mwynwen is a filly out of Culhwch and Olwen. She has the quality bone and the freeflowing movement that you would expect from a Culhwch filly. As her full sister Carnwennan, Mwynwen has a lovely temmperament.

BRYNCADNO FFLAMDDWYN (2006)

Ebol du a phedair hosan wen sydd a dyfodol disglair dros ben. Fel y gwelwch o'r llun mae ganddo gorff a safiad arbennig a'r balchder sydd ei angen mewn sioe. Ychydig o ebolion y dyddiau hyn sydd a chloriau ol fel Fflamddwyn. Daeth yn 3ydd yn y Sioe Frenhinol 2006. Erbyn hyn, mae Fflamddwyn wedi ymgartrefi yn Tsiecoslofacia. Dymunwn pob llwyddiant i'w berchnogion newydd.

Fflamddwyn is a black colt with four white socks. Here is a really prospect for the show circuit. As you can see from the picture he has the body, stance and arrogance required for the show ring. Very few foals these days have hind quarters like Fflamddwyn. He was 3rd in his first show - the Royal Welsh 2006! Now, Fflamddwyn has made a new home in Czechoslovakia and we wish his new owners the evry best of success with him.

The second foal of 2006 for the Rainhill Stud, Rainhill Lancelot was born on 15 May. A flashy chestnut with four long whites, with a bit of luck Lancelot will be in the show ring in 2008. He really is an extravagant mover.

Abigail was seen winning championships at shows in 2006 and 2007. We are extremely excited about her prospects for 2008.

Gwelwyd Bendigo mewn ychydig o sioeau yn 2006 a 2007 lle wnaeth hawlio ei le. Daeth yn ail yn y Ffair Aeaf 2006 ac yn 2007 ennillodd medal efydd yr ail dro allan.

Bendigo was seen at a few shows in 2006 and 2007. He was second at the Winter Ffair 2006 and won a bronze medal onhis second outing of 2007. We are extremely excited about his prospects for 2008.

CRUGLWYD DAZZLER (2006)

Gwerthwyd yr ebol melyn yma gan Mr & Mrs Meurig Thomas, Bridfa Cruglwyd yn yr arwerthiant am £2600. Dyma'r pris uchaf am ebol yn ystod yr arwerthiant. Mae'n wir i ddweud, ni wnaeth ebol symud yn well na hwn erioed yn yr arwerthiant. Roedd yn bleser i'w wylio.

Mr & Mrs Meurig Thomas, Cruglwyd Stud sold this striking chestnut colt for £2600 at the October 2006 sales. This was the highest price for a colt foal at the sales. It's true to say that there has never been a foal that has moved better in the sale ring - it was a real special moment to watch.

Here is a striking bay colt with four beautifully marked socks that can move for fun. Nobleman has been entered for the October sales and is well worth a look. Both dam and sire are Royal Welsh winners.

Dyma'r eboles gyntaf i ni wrth Elen a fi'n credu bod y llun yn dweud y cyfan. Mae Eurddydd wedi bod mewn ambell sioe eleni, ac mae wedi gwella bob tro. Diolch i Simon Bigley am ei dangos yn y sioe frenhinol. Roedd 'na adeg pan roedd ar werth, ond ar ol ei gweld yn mynd yn y sioe gyda Simon, mae Meirion am ei chadw am flwyddyn arall a'i dangos am flwyddyn arall. Eleni, cafwyd chwaer llawn iddi, sef eboles goch a tair coes wen.

This is our first filly from Gwynfaes Elen and Culhwch and I think this picture of her says it all. Eurddydd has been to a few shows his year and has got better and better. Our thanks to Simon Bigley for showing Eurddydd at the Royal Welsh. There was a time at the beginning of his year when Meirion had decided that she was for sale as we had just had her full sister, but after seeing her move that the Royal Welsh, he is nowkeeping her as he wants to show her as a three year old. This year Elen produced another bay filly with three whites.

This is our third filly from Branwen and Culhwch. That makes her a full sister to Seren JR, Gwenddydd, Owain Glyndwr, Noah and the 2007 colt. She's blackish with four whites, exceptional head and superb movement. We wish Mikael & Ann Wadstrom from Sweden all the very best with Golwg Hafddydd in the shows in 2008.

GWYNFAES GOROESWR(2005)

Diwrnod trist iawn oedd yr un pan gwnaethpwyd y penderfyniad i rhoi Goroeswr i lawr. Diolch i bob un a wnaeth eu gorau glas iddo.

So sad, we had to put Goroeswr to sleep as he could not recover from a leg injuring that had been with him from a foal. We were all very dissappointed but very grateful for all the efforts that so many made to help him.

GWYNFAES GILFAETHWY(2005)

Mae Gilfaethwy ar werth, gan ein bod yn cadw Custennin a'i dorri i farthogaeth. Dyma gyfle euraidd i brynu ebol dwy oed o safon a choesau arbennig iawn - geiriau Meirion eto!

A bay colt with four neat white socks, plenty of flat quality bone and has great movement. Gilfaethwy is a full brother to Matholwch, Custennin, Manawydan and Gwawrwen. As Meirion is keeping Custennin for the moment then Gilfaethwy is definately for sale. This is a rare opportunity to buy a quality two year old colt. I will be taking up-to-date pictures as Gilfaethwy has recently returned from our friends Jane & Paul Woolman, Bryncadno Stud.

There is something very special about Dwynwen. Even though she was only born in August, she is already developing into a top class filly. We are looking forward to seeing her perform in the showring. It should be a spectacular sight.

This upstanding black colt with four white socks certainly made his mark in the sales. He sold for £4400 the highest price for a section D colt during the 2005 sale. His new owner Mr Tom Hughes, Rhydeilian Stud has shown him yn 2006 and 2007 and he has been winning across Wales this year - 1st Lampeter Stallion Show, 1st Glanusk Show & 1st and Silver Medal at Anglessey Show.

Here is the first filly we have from Culhwch and Olwen. A beautiful black filly with four white socks. We think the world of her as she is as pretty as a picture. In the spring of 2007, Ceri Fell, Brynseion Stud brought Carnwennan and has been showing her very successfully in the shows around the country. She has won several championships and a bronze medal. Unwaith eto, mae'n ebol sy'n meddu ar y rinweddau sy'n bwysig i ni yn Gwynfaes - ac o'r funud cyntaf mae Meirion wedi ei gymharu a Culhwch. Carwn ddiolch i Daniel Hughes, Bridfa Ionos, am gynhyrchu a dangos Manawydan yn y sioeau yn 2005. Yn 2006, prynnwyd Manawydan gan Anna & Maud Enmark o Sweden. Ers yno, mae Manawydan wedi gwneud dechreuad disglair gan gyrraedd y safon angenrheidiol i'w gynnwys yn y Llyfr Safon a bod yn ennillydd aur yn y sioe Feirch 2007.

A bay colt with three white socks. Yet again, Manawydan is another colt that possesses the qualities that are so all important. Our thanks goes to Daniel Hughes, Ionos Stud, for producing and showing Manawydan during 2005. He proved to be a real show off in the show ring. The picture on the left is of him as a yearling and shows how closely he resembles Culhwch. In 2006, he was brought by Anna & Maud Enmark in Sweden where he now atstud. He has started his excellent breeding and showcareer by qualifying for the Swedish Welshpony & Cob Society 'Book of Quality' and by being a goldwinner at the Stallion Spring Show 2007. A chestnut colt with four white socks - 2 long at the back and 2 short at the front. He's a flashy upstanding colt that moves superbly well. We wish Sara Ackers well with him as she prepares him for the ridden classes having been with Alun & Nerys, Dylusau Stud for 2007.

Mae ganddi'r holl rinweddau byddwn yn ceisio magu yma yn Gwynfaes. Gwerthwyd Gwendydd yn yr arwerthiant ym mis Hydref am £3200 i Etienne & Catherine Stevens o Bridfa Gui Nel, Ffrainc. Here is the second filly we have from Branwen and Culhwch. She's bay with four white socks and as you would expect she's a real character and extremely friendly. She possesses all the qualities that we want at Gwynfaes. Gwenddydd is truely a show quality filly and has that x-factor which is so difficult to describe. Reluctantly, we sold her at the October sales for £3200. We wish Etienne & Catherine Stevens of the Gui Nel Stud, France, her new owners all the best for the future. She is a full sister to Seren JR, Owain Glyndwr, Golwg Hafddydd, Noah and Jaffeth.

Caseg ifanc ddu a phedair coes wen. Mae gennym eboles fach annwyl iawn wrthi a Custennin. Mae Cynddydd yn gyfeb i Thorneyside the Gaffer ar gyfer 2008. Mae gennym obeithion mawr am hon a bydd yn aros yn y fridfa.

A young black mare with four white socks. She has had a really sweet little filly that's full of presence from Custennin. She has been scanned in foal to Thorneyside the Gaffer for 2008. We have very high hopes for her and she will be retained at the stud.

GWYNFAES CUSTENNIN (2003)

ENILLYDD MEDAL ARIAN/ SILVER MEDAL WINNER

Ebol coch a tair coes wen. Fel y gwelwch mae Custennin yn frawd llawn i Matholwch, Manawydan, Gilfaethwy a Gwawrwen. Dyma ebol sy'n meddu ar y rinweddau sy'n bwysig i ni yn Gwynfaes - asgwrn o safon, symudiad cywir ac anian ardderchog. Daeth yn bumed yn y Sioe Frenhinol - y tro cyntaf iddo adael y clos ac yn bumed yn Sioe Feirch Llanbed 2006. Uchafbwynt 2006 i Custennin oedd ennill medal arian yn Sioe y Siroedd Unedig. Mae ein diolch i Daniel Hughes, Bridfa Ionos am gynhyrchu a dangos Custennin mor llwyddiannus yn ystod 2006 gan ennill mewn nifer o sioeau.

Ar dechrau'r 2007, treuliodd Custennin chwe wythnos gyda Sara Ackers yn cael ei dorri i fynd dan gyfrwy. Ganwyd two eboles hyfryd iawn yma eleni.

Ar hyn o bryd bydd Custennin yn treulio'r ddwy flwynedd nesaf ar les gyda'r teulu James, Bridfa Berrington gyda'r bwriad o'i ddangos dan gyfrwy ac mewn llaw.

A bay colt with three white socks. We are very excited by all of Culhwch's foals and with Custennin in particular. He possesses the qualities that are so all important to a good Welsh cob - quality flat bone, straight movement and excellent temperament. The first time he ever left the yard was on Tuesday 20th July 2004 for the Royal Welsh - he was fifth and we were very proud of him. He was also fifth at Lampeter Stallion Show 2005 & 2006. We wish to thank Daniel Hughes of the Ionos Stud for producing and showing Custennin so successfully this year. Custennin and Daniel won in several shows with the definate highlight being winning the WPCS silver medal at the United Counties Show ( Caleb and I were there!!). Thanks again Daniel, you had a real rapor with Custennin.

At the beginning of 2007, Custennin spent six weeks with Sara Ackers being broken to ride. When have had two fillies from him this year.

It appears at the moment that Custennin will spent the next two year on lease with the James family at the Berrington Stud who have the intention to show him under saddle and in hand. Watch this space.

LLANWNEN AWEL MAI (2003)

Cyntaf yn nosbarth yr ebolesi dwy yn Glanusk ac yn ail i Cruglwyd Siriol [hefyd allan o Culhwch] yn Sioe Feirch Llanbed a 6ed yn y Sioe Frenhinol. Mae hon werth ei gweld. Enillodd fedal efydd yn sioe haf Llanbedr Pont Steffan. Dymunwn pob llwyddiant i Eirian Thomas.

Llanwnen Awel Mai is a real show stopper as many have already seen at Glanusk where she won her class, at Lampeter Stallion Show this year where she was second to her half sister Cruglwyd Siriol and the Royal Welsh where she was 6th. We wish, Eirian Thomas and Awel Mai all the best. She is a bronze medal winner.

CRUGLWYD SIRIOL (2003)

Enillodd Cruglwyd Siriol ei dosbarth ac Is-bencampwraig Stoc Ifanc Sioe Feirch Llanbed 2005 a roedd yn 3ydd yn y Sioe Frenhinol 2004 a 2005. Dymunwn yn dda i Siriol, Kevin a'r teulu.

Cruglwyd Siriol won her class and was reserve Youngstock Champion at Lampeter 2005 and 3rd at the Royal Welsh in 2004 and 2005. We wish Siriol, Kevin and family all the best for the future.

Dyma eboles ddu a phedair coes wen a greodd tipyn o argraff yn yr arwerthiant. Gwerthwyd am £4600 sef y pris uchaf am eboles adran D yn ystod yr arwerthiant. Roedd yn ail yn y Sioe Frenhinol 2004 ac yn 2005, fe aeth un cam yn well gan ennill ei dosbarth.

This beautiful black filly with four white socks certainly made her mark in the sales. She was eventually sold for £4600 the highest price for a section D filly during the sale. She is a profilic show winner in 2004, winning many championships, first prizes as well as a second at the Royal Welsh. Undeg went one step better by winning her class at the Royal Welsh 2005. We wish Sandra & Peter Watkins all the best with Undeg and her progeny.

Dyma farch melyn trawiadol a phedair hosan wen. Enillodd Bryncadno Arwr y dosbarth blwyddi yn Sioe Frenhinol Lloegr 2002. Gwerthwyd am £1800 yn arwerthiant Hydref 2002. Ers hyny mae wedi cael gyrfa llwyddiannus iawn mewn llaw ac mae ei berthnogion newydd yn ei dorri i farchogaeth.

Arwr is a beautifully marked chestnut stallion with four white socks. He was sold at the October 2002 sales for £1800. Since the sale he has been shown to great success including 2003 Champion D & silver medal at Midland WPCS, 2004 Supreme in hand champion & bronze medal at East Midland WPCS, 2004 Youngstock D champion at Midland WPCS, 2004 2nd Northleach. His owners Ceri and Nick Fell, Brynseion are now breaking Arwr into ride and he is available for stud duties. We wish all concerned the very best with Arwr in the future.

Cariad is a chestnut filly with four white socks. Like her father she is an incredible mover and is a complete show-off . She clearly has the potential of being a special brood mare or a show mare under saddle. She will eventually be over 15 hands. Cariad was sold in the October 2002 sales for £2,200.
